While at RPS, Satish gave birth to the idea for Parcel Select (last mile service of USPS), to expand RPS into rural areas.

In 1997 Satish convinced FedEx to acquire RPS and to enter LTL market with Viking Freight.

For years, as keynote speaker at LTL conferences, Satish has argued that instead of being squeezed from either side by parcel and truckload carriers, LTL carriers should push into both adjoining segments and generate better margins. After lagging in the 3rd place, LTL industry is now generating the highest margin.

End of Honor System

Using parcel industry experience, Satish made the case for LTL carriers to stop honoring shippers data on the shipments attributes listed on the BOLs. Since then, rapid deployment of dimensional machines have increased revenue and profits for carriers and reduced auditing of bills.

FedEx Freight Spin-Off

In November 21, 2021 Satish wrote an open letter to Fred Smith, CEO of FedEx making a case for the spin-off of FedEx Freight. to enhance shareholder value. In December of 2024, FedEx announced such decision and the spin-off is on schedule for June 2026.

On March 11, 2023 Daniel J. Sullivan & Satish Jindel hosted the reunion of employees and partners of RPS. Being a vital member of the success story of RPS, Satish had a public speaking role at the event.

In 1985 Satish Jindel played a crucial role in the founding and expansion of RPS.

Package weight goes up to 150 pounds

Satish was responsible for RPS raising the parcel weight from 100 to 150 pounds (UPS followed and endured a one-day strike by Teamsters)

The Birth of Guaranteed Ground Service

Our influence resulted in guarantee of Ground Service. Since 1998, it has saved billions of dollars for shippers.

Satish made the case for LTL carriers to start correcting for improper weight listed on BOL generated by shippers. It has generated millions of dollars for the industry.
